{this moment}: Proud Needle Felter

{this moment} ~ A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Too Cute to Eat

Can a vegetable be too cute to eat?  The new ones popping up in our garden right now are so adorable that I just had to take their "baby" photos.

 We have several tomato varieties.

These bush beans are so cute growing out of their blossoms.

My first attempt at growing onions.

The gardenias smell heavenly!

Just beyond the gardenia is a baby pineapple.  We planted the top of a pineapple a couple of years ago and nothing happened until last month.  Finally!

My mom has provided a tremendous amount of help with the garden.  I usually don't have much luck but, with her help (remembering to water), things are taking off.

New Rain Barrel

My parents gave us a rain barrel for Christmas 2012.  Unfortunately, we didn't have gutters on our house to collect water.  A year and a half later, we have painted the rain barrel, added gutters, a downspout, and risers for it to sit on.

It feels great to not have to water our garden with city water!

Beginner Spinner

I bought this beautiful beginner spin kit from Ewephoric Fibers while at the Florida Fiber In back in September.  I gave it a try the following week and then stashed it away.  Out of sight did not mean out of mind, though, because I have spent the last few months thinking about how badly I want to spin!  I just found a pattern for a cowl on ravelry using beginner handspun yarn and decided to get my spindle out and give it a go again.

A crazy cowl this will be!!!
